Meet the Nurse: Amanda Burritt LPN, FCN
A little about me…
My name is Amanda and I have worked in healthcare for almost 15 years. Prior to becoming an LPN, I worked as a Care Aide for many years before upgrading my schooling. Since becoming an LPN, I have only worked in Acute Care settings and have a passion for helping people in need.
In 2019, I had my first child and took advantage of the time off by completing the Advanced Nursing Foot Care course through the University of the Fraser Valley.
In 2021, my daughter was diagnosed with a severe genetic disease resulting in me giving up my career and moving to Calgary. Since then, I have been a full time caregiver to her and her little sister that arrived in 2022.
During my time working in Care Homes as well as hospitals I saw several patients with the need for Foot Care but due to a shortage of Foot Care Nurses they were not receiving the proper care for their feet. This made my decision to go into this field of work that much easier since Foot health is very important. I would love the chance to talk to you about how I can help you or your loved ones achieve healthy well cared for feet.
